Dear Colleagues and Friends,
You are cordially invited to attend a discussion on “Preparing for Climate Change on the Coast” on Thursday, December 9 from 9:00-11:30 A.M. at the Malaysia-American Commission on Educational Exchange.

The event will feature a 90-minute program from the U.S. Center at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Cancun, followed by 60 minutes of moderated discussion with participants from government, NGOs, and academia. The Cancun program focuses on the impacts to communities of rising sea levels along the coast. An international audience and panel of experts will exchange information about vulnerability assessments, tools, and methodologies that are being used by coastal communities to understand and reduce their vulnerability to natural hazards and to sustain their way of life and the ecosystem habitats and services on which they depend.
Against the backdrop of the COP-16 meetings in Cancun, I look forward to a fruitful exchange on an issue of great interest to Malaysia, the United States, and the international community. Please feel to pass this invitation to colleagues you think might be interested in joining us.
As seating will be limited, please RSVP at earliest opportunity by sending an email to info@mycjn.org
Sincerely,
Kris Kvols | Environment, Science, Technology and Health Officer
